Description: |
The patent is for open end wrenches of the same size set at an angle to the line of the shank and in line with the line of the shank on opposite sides of the same wrench head. The web between the open ends forms a hex socket. The open ends are also described as entrance grooves for the socket. Known examples are multiple-size malleable iron wrenches marked JEFFREY LOCK=JAW -- the wrench is pictured in the illustrations for the reissue patent RE12,854. Jeffrey's subsequent patents (nos. 916,951 and 916,952) are "special applications" refining this patent. |
