Wrench opening size adjusted by sliding "plates or strips." Ron Geesin's THE ADJUSTABLE SPANNER shows a couple of variant markings on examples of this wrench produced by Funt's Novelty Rack Company.
Corresponding German patent DE-92949 was granted with effective date June 25, 1896.
