Description: |
| This is the earliest patent we have found that explicitly recognizes that "polymerized vinyl esters" can be used as adhesives. This is notable in that such chemicals include polyvinyl alcohols that are the basis of PVA glues; see patent 1,084,581 for an earlier patent in the development of these products, and patent 2,419,880 for a later one. The present patent explicitly describes several solutions of polymerized vinyl acetates in various alcohols, which have various attributes of flexibility and strength. |
