Description:
This truing fixture for bicycle wheels remains popular decades after its introduction in the mid-1960s. It seems that production has largely ceased although the original manufacturer remains in business. Original examples are prominently marked with the patent number ("672210") in multiple places.

The truing gauge, with its pair of dials showing lateral and radial runout, allows the bicycle mechanic to adjust the wheel to round in just a few minutes.

The original manufacturer was Ets. Martin s.p.r.l. The "Ets." part is short for "Établissements" and "s.p.r.l." is short for "Société Privée à Responsabilité Limitée". Together, they suggest that this was (and is) a small business organized as a limited liability corporation. The business is still active as of 2025 and although their website mentions the PreciRay there is no indication that it is still available.
