Description: |
Patent 3,491,422 discloses a portable planer cutter fabricated from a series of plates with cutting edges plus "cooperating bosses and apertures" to produce a roughly helical cutting edge. This present patent discloses how to manufacture that invention, which was claimed to reduce cost from "almost fifty dollars" for a conventionally machined 3-inch helical cutterhead to a small fraction of that cost, by drastically reducing both the amount of labor and the skill required. |
