Description: |
Two clevis pieces interact. The outer end of the inner piece can be lifted or lowered; the notches on the face of that clevis act to set "side draft" adjustment in conjunction with a spur on the inner portion of the "outer" clevis. The "outer" clevis has a slot with spurs, and a link with one flattened side which can be set to adjust "depth" draft. The drawings show parts suitable for use on a wooden plow beam.
A known example of the "outer" clevis piece is marked "PAT MAR 13 77"
See also Canadian patent CA-7502 which shows the clevis adapted for use on an iron plow beam; the claims include a "sleeve" to attach the clevis to an iron plow beam. A refinement of that design received U.S. patent 201,837. |
