Description: |
The drawing is titled "Wrench." The claims reads, "My device for detaching a wheel from its axletree, by means of the plate CC acting as a wrench for unscrewing the nut B, which holds the wheel to the axle, said plate being advanced and withdrawn by the screw D, substantially in the manner herein described." The "T" handled piece to manipulate the screw "D" is called a key in the specifications. Shifting the internal plate "CC" to engage the axle nut effectively locks the wheel to the axle nut and then turning the wheel tightens or loosens the axle nut.
