Description:
This cutter is intended to be mounted on a turret. Another patent issued to this inventor in the same year, patent 1,276,445, was reissued, and that reissue was assigned to Pratt & Whitney Co. We do not know if this "Thread or worm cutter" patent was also used by Pratt & Whitney.

The inventor also had patents related to refining gold ore. He then invented an ingenious (and fairly successful) air compressor that uses the action of falling water to compress air: see patent 892,772.
