Description: |
| The design is intended to be strong enough to withstand strain at right angles to the "intended" direction (as in bending pipe), and have the spring in a protected location.
This patent and Thewe's Sept. 1, 1925 patent no. 1,552,091 are the beginning of the RIDGID line of pipe wrenches. An alternative structure in patent 1,565,338 does not appear to have been produced.
Provisional publication of corresponding British patent GB-200,068 appears in 1923 ABRIDGMENTS OF SPECIFICATIONS. |
