Description: |
Pope Mfg. Co. of Hartford was a very large and successful maker of bicycles, motorcycles, gasoline engines, and motor cars. They were innovators in mass production of those items; for example, they are believed to have been the first to using grinding machines to finish gas engine cylinders. So far as we can tell, this gear making machine was for their own use and was not manufactured for sale. |
