Description:
"Expand when handles close" jaws with extended pegs combined with secondary linkage that opens and "pulls back" a second set of extended pegs. The tool expands elastic rings used to emasculate male lambs and similar livestock. Bands were also designed for tail docking and dehorning calves. Term of patent was through May 12, 1963, based on New Zealand patent application May 12, 1943.

The specifications cite U.S. patents 1,362,308, 1,683,119 and British patent GB-539,998 as relevant prior art. Cited in patent no. 2,582,640.
