Description: |
A tension spring pulls the movable jaw closed; a toggle on the movable jaw engages rack teeth on the movable jaw with rack teeth on the shank to hold the adjustment. A spring catch in the handle can hold the movable jaw in "fully open" position. The movable jaw has provision for a supplemental sloping face pipe gripping jaw.
An Oct. 28, 1915 IRON AGE announcement hints that Hay attempted to produce the wrench. |
