This invention consists in the arrangement within the die-stock or holder, and between the dies, of taper or taper-headed adjusting-screws for setting out the dies, such screws operating, in combination with external set-screws, to obtain a perfect and secure adjustment of the dies.
This patent was the basis for the adjustable dies produced by Wiley & Russell. Patent nos. 303,060 and 306,723 are subsequent improvements.
Corresponding Canadian patent no. CA-1,765 was issued November 12, 1872 to J.J. Grant, Solon L. Wiley and Charles P. Russell of Greenfield, Mass.
