Description: |
The side flanges that support the movable jaw have lugs that provide pivot bearings for rocking movement of the movable jaw. The sides of the movable jaw shank are recessed to accommodate the lugs. This construction is to facilitate the wrench teeth gripping and releasing pipe depending on the direction of handle movement. Corresponding British patent GB-189110707 was registered June 23, 1891 in the names of a British patent agent and C. F. Donahue. German patent DE-63686 was granted to Catherine F. Donahue.
Donahue's name appears as Donohue in 195,589, 238,369, 268,784 and D19,412. |
