Description: |
A lever with a threaded rounded base is attached to the movable jaw. The main shank has a "groove" with threads cut in its rounded bottom. The threaded portion of the lever engages the threads in the groove. At one extremity of its motion, the lever's threads are clear of the groove, allowing the movable jaw to slide freely. The lever's position in relation to the movable jaw is held by a spring-loaded pin engaging rack teeth cut in the base of the movable jaw. The teeth are tapered in one direction, to allow for quick tightening.
