Description: |
| The patent is an improvement to the Frederick P. Robert February 21, 1922 patent (no. 1,407,578). The patented features are the spring, and the stop which hold the jaws slightly gapped -- "in inopperative position."
Many HOE wrenches marked with the Feb. 21, 1922 patent date correspond to this patent's features. It appears on a "dealer's counter display" shown in a Dec. 1924 HOE CORP. ad. Subsequent improvements especially applicable to larger sizes were patented by Robert Hoe in no. 1,681,184, and those features are noted in that Dec. 1924 ad in conjunction with the 24 inch size HOE Wrench. |
