| This improvement to Miller's Aug. 28, 1883 patent (no. 283,801) simplifies the mechanism by using the pivot screws for the ratchet pawls to hold the case together. The mating edges of the case halves have recesses and lips that keep the case halves aligned. A known wrench marked with the earlier patent date has a case corresponding to this patent. |
