| "The present invention relates to a magnetic dial chuck feeder mechanism for the very rapid and effective continuous feeding of piston rings or similar rings between grinding wheels which continuously operating at high speed, serve to simultaneously grind the opposite sides of the castings..."This patent is referred to in a number of subsequent patents for similar inventions. The assignee company was established in 1948 by Ralph V. Hanchett and two sons-in-law; Hanchett had earlier established Hanchett Swage Works. In 1970, Hanchett Magna-Lock was renamed to Magna-Lock Corp., and then in 1974 the company was acquired by Hitachi Metals America, Ltd., and renamed to Hitachi Magna-Lock Corp. In 1985 a former employee purchased the lift-magnet and permanent chuck lines to form Magnetic Specialties Corp.; the remaining products were purchased by Mattison Machine Works. Mattison Machine Works failed in 1997 and the assets were acquired by DeVlieg-Bullard, who in that same year sold the magnetic products to Centro-Metalcut, Inc. In 2002, Tri-CAM, Inc., was established and took over all products from Centro-Metalcut. In 2007, Tri-CAM went under; Magna-Lock USA, Inc., was created to continue the Magna-Lock product line. In 2010, Magnetic Specialties (remember them, from 1985?) went under and its product lines were picked up by Magna Lock USA, Inc. |
