Description: |
A series of flat tumbler leaves adjusts the size of the opening. In known examples these leaves are numerous and thin allowing for fairly fine adjustment. Wrench collector folklore says these were used in the German submarine service.
A notice in July 14, 1921 AMERICAN MACHINIST supplies a manufacturer's / distributor's name and location.
The No. 1 size is 6 inches long; No. 3 is 14 inches long with the opening having 8 increments from 1 inch through 1 5/8 inch |
