Description:
This improvement on the 1918 Collison-Wright patent (no. 1,280,405) adds a second set of movable pivots in the handle linkage which result in a self-locking action even though the wrench retains the swinging end loop to keep the handle in the "closed" position. The final assembly of these tools took place in a remodeled chicken coop behind a village feed mill; the parts were produced by contract firms and the feed mill employees assembled the tools during "slack time" at the mill.

Markings read, "COLLISON "S" WRENCH / COLLISON MFG. CO. BRUNING, NEBR / PAT. MAY 29, 1946"

The patent cites U.S. patent nos. 1,280,405, 2,324,187, and 2,445,480 and German patents DE-354317 and DE-486072.
