Stan Schulz June & Dec 1937 RIDGID Pipe Wrench ads (FLICKR)
Description: |
| The wrench is identical to the patent drawing. Earliest ads for this style show "PAT. PEND"G" markings and malleable iron handles; example shown in 2nd image is marked "RIDGID PAT 1727623 // RIDGE TOOL CO ELYRIA O U.S.A." Ads from 1937 demonstrate a modified appearance introduced during that year -- additional material added to the fixed jaw resulted in a "chevron," and Dec. 1937 ad includes "alloy handle" in the description.
The wrenches with this patent number have many features carried over from Thewes' Sept. 1, 1925 patent (no. 1,552,091). |
