Description: |
| This design for dividers uses a "brake" to prevent the arms from moving. The brake is in the form of a small shoe under the top post, which can have pressure applied to it by twisting the top post.
These were produced by the Eagle Pencil Company as their #560, and the production pieces are quite ornate. They feature a stamped floral design on the legs, and reversible points to allow use as dividers, pencil compass, or ink compass.
Production pieces are not marked with the patent date, but the box is. |
