Description:
The wrench shank is threaded, and engages threads cut in the movable jaw. The jaws are kept in alignment by a pin running parallel to the shank. The drawing shows a version with the end jaw rotating freely. The specifications describe an alternate version where the end of the shank has left-hand threads engaging threads in the end jaw, which would double the adjusting speed.

Some of these ideas are very similar to early 20th Century French designs such as the Lacheze patents 841,946 and 988,336.
