Description: |
Gage has two parts - a rod with the usual graduations and a dart which pivots which has both a straight edge and a slightly curved edge.
This arrangement supposedly improves the accuracy in measuring casks by preventing the measurement from being taken within the recess at the intersection of the head and stave. |
