Description: |
This is a compact butt gage that can double as a mortise
gage. The tool is quite small, which would make for an excellent
butt gage, but it would probably be too small to be useful as
a mortise gage.
Of particular interest on this patent is a variant shown in the
drawing where the body is made in a 'V' shape rather than flat.
This would allow the two scribes to not interfere with each other
when being used to mark the hinge thickness.
