Description:
Gage used to determine the thickness of saw plate as well as check saw teeth to ensure that they form a right angle with the sides of the saw. The 1894 catalog of E. C. Atkins & Co. features this gauge on page 92. It is called "The Sawyer's Gauge" and no maker is identified. The catalog contains a mixed of products made by E. C. Atkins and by third parties so we cannot assume that E. C. Atkins was the maker.
