Description: |
The invention is a flickering incandescent light that uses a magnet to move the filament in an oscillating manner. The patent is an improvement on the inventor's patent 3,237,053. This lamp was produced in at last two versions. In one, the flame-shaped glass bulb constrained the movement of the filament to a modest side-to-side vibration, and in the other the spherical bulb allowed the filament to vibrate wildly. Despite all the movement of the filament, these bulbs lasted a surprisingly long time, often exceeding the rated 500 hours of life. |
