Abstract:
My invention relates to improvements in locking devices for levers or shafts having both pivotal and rotary movement, and the present disclosure shows the invention in connection with a control shaft for a transmission mechanism.
Claim:
The combination with a shaft mounted for both rotary and pivotal movement; of a curved track extending transversely of said shaft, a friction brake movable along said track during the pivotal movement of said lever, a collar movable with said shaft when the latter is rotated, and spring means for engaging said collar with said friction brake and for holding the latter in frictional contact with said track. |
