| The February 1907 Hardware Dealers' Magazine, page 310, reports that the "Pomeroy" Anchor Shoe Holder was manufactured by the Great Lakes Mfg. Co., 152 Lake street, Chicago, and that firm also manufactured "a variety of Hand Riveting and Hook and Eyelet Setting Machine". The March 1907 issue, page 609, has ads from F. H. Smith Mfg. Co. and Great Lakes Mfg. Co.; the former shows several models of riveter: Rex, Pony, The Best Yet, the Pomeroy No. 1, and No. 3 with Foot Power. The latter features the Monarch No. 1 and No. 2 riveters, and Our Own riveter. Both companies were in Chicago and the positioning of the ad suggests that there was some connection between the two firms. |
