See Swiss patent CH-236,622 for more information on this Multifix tool post and corresponding tool holders. This continues to be one of the more common styles of lathe toolposts. They were manufactured by J. F. Minder (Switzerland) between 1946 and 1974; by Mivesa SA (Switzerland) between 1959 to 1984; by Hahn & Kolb of Germany (after 1952 to 1983 and then ("Nouvelle Mivesa" resumed production until 2004).
