Claim:
This invention is in the nature of a manually operated tool for pulling and tensioning a metal band and locking it in its tensioned condition to or on an object with which it is engaged. For example, it is common practice to bond together the boards or slats forming the walls of wooden crates by flexible metal bands or straps passed around and nailed to the walls of the crate, in which case the hands or straps should be drawn as tightly as possible around the crate walls to secure the best bonding effect. Again, it is known practice to tighten a rubber hose on an inserted nipple or coupling by coiling a fiat soft metal band around the portion of the hose surrounding the nipple or coupling and drawing the coils tightly together and locking them against re-expansion. |
