Description: |
The inventor was Milton "Gummo" Marx, probably the least-known of the five Marx Brothers. He left the vaudeville comedy troupe in 1917 to join the Army, though the war ended before he could be sent overseas. He decided not to rejoin the troupe and was replaced by youngest brother Zeppo. Instead, Milton pursued a business career, including manufacturing raincoats, and would later run a talent agency along with brother Zeppo after he, too, left the Marx Brothers act. |
