Description:
This is the US equivalent of Canada patent CA-116,463, which is the main patent for the famous (in Canada, at least) Robertson screw. Robertson signed a deal with Fisher Body Co., who reportedly used over 700 Robertson screws in each Ford Model T car. Henry Ford wanted exclusive US rights to the Robertson screw but Robertson refused to sign such a deal, so Ford eventually switched to Phillips screws. Robertson screws were very successful in Canada and, over a century later, remain the dominant screw type there.
