Description: |
Supplemental pipe gripping jaw piece for "monkey wrench." The plane surface which faced the pipe has gripping teeth and the irregular curved side which faced the wrench jaw and shank has gripping teeth on a portion. As Ken Cope noted in "American Wrench Makers 1830-1930" [under the entry for FARIES PIPE THUMB (pat no. 79,219)], supplemental pipe gripping jaws were patented and produced well into the 20th Century. |
