Description: |
It appears that the equivalent US patent was never issued, although the description of 4,329,770 refers to such an application."In the past, accurate circular flanges were cut on workpieces in lathes... However, for relatively large workpieces, such as cast steel axle housings for tractors or large earth moving machines, machining the flanges in a lathe is difficult due to the size and weight of the workpieces, and also due to the unsymmetrical shape. Therefore, it is desirable to provide a machine tool which is capable of accurately cutting circular flanges in relatively large unsymmetrical workpieces while the workpiece is held in a stationary fixture..." |
