Description: |
The driving "bevel gear" has teeth on less than half of its circumference. Two of the teeth are "half length." The teeth mesh alternately with "upper" and "lower" bevel pinion gears on the driven shaft. One of the pinion gears has "full length" teeth to engage all of the teeth on the driving gear. The other pinion gear has "half length" teeth which engage only the "full length" teeth on the driving gear. This provides oscillating rotary motion to the driven shaft, with progressive "forward" motion provided by the different distance of motion provided by the two "half length" teeth on the driving gear. The tool has provision for interchangeable "bits" to fit different styles of valve faces. The "Y" shaped hand grip on the top of the case is a distinctive feature. |
