Description: |
Two levers with tapered claw ends are pivoted to each other to form a tool for opening wooden crates and boxes without splitting the lumber, enabling reuse of the boxes.
The tapered end of one lever is shorter, and fits in a recess in the longer lever to provide a smooth taper when driving the opener between boards.
Taft's earlier box opener patent (No. 8,457) was produced with a hammer poll. |
