Description: |
This patented machine was seen at Ripley's Believe It or Not Odditorium in Gatlinburg, TN. This invention consists of a vertical drill press was arranged with two milling cutters above the bit, the two cutters mounted on one horizontal shaft. The bit creates a mortise with rounded corners and the milling cutters squares off the corners. The machine looks to be capable of rapidly cutting clean-edged mortises but the machine would be expensive to manufacture and difficult to use for different size holes. See also patent 1,297,740. |
