Description: |
Size adjustable jar wrench; the pivots which allow for size adjustment operate similar to slip-joint pliers. The tool would grip three areas on jar lids within its capacity. "Fingers" act to hold the opener in best gripping postion on "Mason" type screw lids, and can also be used to release "vacuum" on other types of jar lids.
An example of the tool is pictured in the DATAMP entry for corresponding U.S. patent 1,196,232 granted Aug. 29, 1916.
Although not stated, this is an evolution from Gurnett's prior jar wrench patent (CA-157,315). |
