Description:
This is the famous Simplex double-acting jack, which raises (or lowers) the load on both the up-stroke and down-stroke of the handle. This simple and strong design was improved several times and the Simplex family of jacks was extremely successful. This particular jack was especially adapted for railway use, as in lifting the axles of a railway-car.
