Description: |
Pliers and wrenches with jaws tapering toward the tip; the construction allows for "hand clearance" and improved access in obstructed locations.
Mechanics Tool Co., Rockford, IL was advertising open end wrenches incorporating this feature in late 1921 -- known examples do not have any markings reflecting the patent number. Similar wrenches marked ENDERES are also known.
Another known example citing the patent is an ENDERES PAT JAN -11-21 (sic) slip-joint pliers with tapered jaws. |
