Description: |
The hook jaw has selectable pivot points to adjust for size; the link between the hook jaw and operating lever is adjustable.
Corresponding U.S. patent no. 562,719 was issued June 23, 1896.
Three sizes are known; some have the center turnbuckle adjust; others have other means to adjust the working length of the connecting link. The pivot point for the hook jaw is a stove bolt in known examples rather than the pin and spring clip shown in the patent. Known examples appear to have been hand made. Fullerton is a small town. |
