Description: |
The patent describes the frame, pawl and holder features of the SCHROEDER RATCHET as marketed in North America. The set was offered with interchangeable ratchet discs with hex or square wrench openings. Contemporary advertising also showed a set with sockets. The Roren Drop Forging Company and Bullard Automatic Wrench Co. sold the set in the U.S. Known examples of the ratchet are marked with a British patent number (i.e. GB-190425990).
U.S. patent no. 794,952 issued July 18, 1905 describes a slightly different manifestation of the Schroeder ratchet. |
