Description: |
"Angular socket whose inner wall presents a straight flat face disposed obliquely to the shank at an obtuse angle thereto, said angular socket having opposite side walls disposed in planes perpendicular to the plane of said inner wall and of different lengths, the shorter side wall having a serrated face and the opposite longer wall having a concaved face whose concavity is formed on the arc of a circle concentric with the outer extremity of the shorter side wall." -- from the specifications.
This wrench will "ratchet" on square nuts, and wrench heads like this were used for railroad fish plate bolts.
Manufacturer attribution taken from Ken Cope's "American Wrench Makers 1830-1930." |
