Description: |
The slitting blade can be turned to slit or cut around the circumference of wire-reinforced electrical cable covering. Mounting this in the jaw of a vise-grip type pliers takes advantage of the size and pressure adjustment of the tool. The tool modification includes the "handle" extension on the fixed jaw.
Described in trade and technical literature as the JONES 2-WAY CABLE STRIPPER for use on lead or metallic sheathed cable. A 1947 POPULAR SCIENCE ad lists JONES TOOL Co. Seattle, WA. Some examples have markings giving a Washington D.C. address; the tool appears in military technical literature. |
