Description: |
These are for the band clamps that hold protective rubber boots in place around constant velocity joints in automotive drive trains. The jaws tighten the band, and the cam- actuated anvil compresses the crimped portion so there is minimal protrusion on the installed band. The square holes in the handles are to allow for extra leverage using a breaker bar or torque wrench.
The tool itself says "MADE IN U.S.A." with the patent number.
Patent nos. 1,250,690, 1,442,083 and 3,216,291 are referenced as prior art and this patent is essentially an improvement on the last of these three. |
