Description: |
The key element of the patent is a ratchet connection between the handle and the frame holding the adjustable jaw. This allows for adjusting the angle between the head and handle to enable the wrench to operate in locations difficult of access.
A known example uses the simpler of the alternate ratchet forms described in the patent. Tedd Products Co., Rockford, IL marketed this as the HANDI-FLEX wrench.
The patents cited as references includes the early Meader ratchet -- nos. 45,931, 525,683, 525,684, 1,564,838, 1,650,085, 1,724,491 and 1,944,171. |
