Description: |
This release mechanism to detach wrench sockets from spring detents like those in patent no. 1,927,844 was used in BLACKHAWK "LOCK-ON" socket sets. This reissue patent number appears on some versions of the BLACKHAWK FREE WHEEL RATCHET, which uses patent nos. 1,936,640 and 2,003,155 for the ratchet mechanism and on the Blackhawk #49996 ratchet along with patent no. 1,995,009 for the ratchet mechanism.
Alloy Artifacts notes this patent in the section on evolution of Blackhawk's "Lock-On" tools. The sequence noted there is: 1,685,503, 1,896,645, 1,807,134, this patent, 1,927,844, 1,982,008 and 2,190,081.
