Description: |
Produced as the NATIONAL HATCHET DETACHABLE JAW tool. Advertising noted hatchet, hammer, wire cutter, leather punch, nail puller, screw driver, hoof trimmer, pruning knife, pipe wrench, stock marker, etc. It is an expansion on Morris' July 19, 1898 patent (no. 607,448).
A photo owned by a Morris descendant shows a high polish finish "show piece" example of the tool accompanied by component parts.
