Description: |
The patent presents a screw adjustment where the adjusting nut works on a threaded rod rather than using a worm drive and rack. The movable jaw is formed so that the contact surfaces of the movable jaw and handle bear most of the strain. A couple of alternate methods of retaining the adjustable jaw are presented, although the preferred form has the movable jaw dovetailed into the handle, with the adjusting screw also serving as the retaining pin for the movable jaw.
Produced as the HOLTYTE WRENCH. Braunsdorf-Mueller also produced more traditional adjustable end wrenches.
